ASE

The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE), represented by the CEO of the ASE, Mazen Wathaifi, participated in the activities of the Ninth Conference of Jordanian Businessmen and Investors, held under the theme “Investment Opportunities with a Global Vision.” The conference was organized by the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Ministry of Investment, at the St. Regis Amman Hotel. The conference was inaugurated by the Minister of Investment, Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, with the participation of a distinguished group of Jordanian businessmen and investors from various countries around the world, in addition to officials and representatives from the public and private sectors.

The conference featured specialized sessions discussing key economic issues central to the Kingdom's economic progress—most notably the major economic advancement program for 2026–2029, the implementation of investment projects, and the economic importance of strengthening international partnerships and attracting investment. Additionally, the sessions addressed the role of Jordanians abroad in leveraging their expertise to support sustainable growth.

During the third session of the conference, entitled “Private Sector Projects in Achieving the Economic Modernization Vision… From Vision to Achievement,” which addressed the role of the private sector in implementing investment projects and the opportunities available to enhance economic growth and the competitiveness of the national economy, Wathaifi affirmed that the ASE continues to implement its development plans aimed at enhancing market efficiency and transparency, developing trading and disclosure infrastructure, and broadening the investor base. These efforts contribute to providing an attractive investment environment for local and foreign investments, particularly investments by Jordanians abroad.

During his participation, Wathaifi also reviewed the key performance indicators of the Jordanian capital market during 2026, as well as the efforts undertaken by the ASE and capital market institutions to attract new listings, develop products and services provided to investors, and enhance investment awareness, in a manner that supports the growth of the Jordanian financial market and keeps pace with the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision. Wathaifi stated that, according to the performance indicators for 2025, the ASE ranked first in the region and thirteenth globally in terms of the increase in its General Index. He pointed out that the General Index increased by 45.1%, while the Total Return Index increased by 58.5%, and market capitalization increased by approximately JD8.8 billion. He emphasized that there are numerous investment opportunities available at the ASE in light of this positive performance and the achievement by listed companies of their second-highest historical net profits in 2025 and during the first quarter of 2026.

The participation of the ASE in this conference comes as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen communication with investors locally and internationally, promote the investment opportunities available in the Jordanian capital market, and highlight the developments taking place in the market. It also reflects the role played by the ASE as one of the key pillars in supporting the investment environment, attracting investments, and promoting economic growth.
